NSH has plenty of winger depth/prospects. It doesn’t make sense for them to trade their best prospect/trade asset for another winger. I’d the flip Askarov, it makes a lot more sense to target centers/RHD

It looks like from roster here at CF you are deep with RD, is that correct? If it is still a need move Marino into this trade for Askarov.

Fan, do you think Hague ends up being a McNabb type player? If not target McNabb he's young enough to keep around and slot down once Luke is ready. He and Dougie at top pair is a nice idea. I like Hague for sure and has more longevity for us, I am just thinking about the immediate year or 2

We have no high end RHD and probably only 1, maybe 2, of those have any chance of being in the NHL. Those would be Ufko and Gibson (who we just traded for)

I think Hague will be more similar to Bahl. I don’t know who VGK moves, but history has shown they like sending cap to Eastern Conference and aren’t afraid to take discount on return if full cap hits moved.

My guess is that Hague goes before McNabb, which is why I included him here.

Add Marino, Tanev or Roy…with Schenn, Fabbro and Ufko…they should be in good shape.

According to Pierre Lebrun Meehan said he wanted between 4-5 to sign in TB so unless Lebrun is lying yes. I'm not saying he'll still be here I am saying 5.5 doesn't get him to NJ.

It looks to me like the decision to not be in TB is being made for him by Brisebois 8 years@3 is the reported offer on the table if Brisebois comes with that offer he signs it in 5 minutes ,but no one else gets that deal several teams offer wayyyy more for a guy who had 40 goals and is still a ppg guy. It's 8 .5+ anywhere not TB and someone will gladly do that.

That doesn't mean he'd accept an offer like that from someone else he made that statement saying this is the TB discount.. you honestly don't think someone else will offer a 40 goal ppg player more? If so, you're absolutely delusional. TB just opened a boatload of cap which probably means the offer goes up.

Does he take $3m to stay in TB over $5.5m to come to sunny, low-tax New Jersey?

(I think on open market he should get at least Pavelski’s original deal in Dallas $7m x 3 years).

That's my point if he goes on the open market 5.5 ain't close. Sunny low tax NJ my cousin lives in Dumont she has a 3 bedroom 1300 square foot house and pays almost 10 k a year in property tax WTF are you talking about low tax NJ a top income tax bracket of 10.4% that's low it's one of the highest tax states in the country. It's got the 6th highest state income tax rates in the country . Minnesota, Hawaii,Commiefornia,NY and Connecticut have higher

Can’t wait to see pesce’s deal. It really determines the whole offseason for me.

1 mill difference in AAV is imo worth a 1st of value either way. An extra year of term changes things significantly. I can’t value the Marino deal until I see the pesce contract

There is going to be a reason they linked up so early. Either he wanted to play close to home (he grew up on other side of Tappen Zee bridge). Or we are offering big number.
