I doubt Grier sends Granlund for cap dumps. Even with the distant 1st and 2nd attached.

Fabbri & Chiarot can play and provide veteran leadership that SJS could use along with the two picks and two prospects but, you’re probably right since they could prob get a 1st round pick for Granlund at the TDL.

Granlund was arguably the best player on the ice last season (yes, that bar is very low) for the Sharks and really grew on Grier. Quite a surprise for a guy that Pittsburgh was dumping in the Karlsson trade. He might even get a contract to be that bridge vet forward to guide the incoming prospects. Especially if Couture's injury ends up being a career ender. I think there is a scenario where they do this deal if Couture is healthy. I suppose if Detroit was really pushing to contend, a trade there would be a good reward for his hard work and taking the move to SJ and the subsequent abomination of a season like a true professional.

Why in the world would you trade Cossa for Askarov? Both are good but Askarov has a whopping 3 games NHL experience. That makes him a better goalie?
Why would you trade away Augustine for Gibson? A has been with crappy numbers last few years and a huge contract? If you wanna give him a 2nd chance then Ducks would have to retain some of that cap space AND take on a bad contract lie Holl or Husso. They are NOT going to do that so deal is off. Besides I don't really want Gibby now. 5 years ago yes. But not now.

I have ANA retaining roughly 40% of Gibson’s deal. Majority of the value pieces going back to ANA in the trade are essentially for Zegras. Also have them taking back Husso’s deal. I think with ANA getting back a top goalie prospect, top forward prospect, NHL ready player with upside, along with a lottery pick and another early pick, it is certainly not a lopsided deal and something for each team to consider.
