Buffalo would retain and match for Colton and extra for Miles Wood

Pretty interesting seeing Rutger in the top six. Realistically, his personality doesn't match COL's philosophy

Thanks for the feedback. Seems like a good route to go.

I think it's a good match on ice. It's the off ice stuff that would need to be vetted. It would be a big victory if it worked out though.

Interesting idea on the Colton/JGP move. The Winnipeg trade is a little hopeful though lol.

I took the Peg trade from a Sportsnet article, in which it basically said certain players in the draft plus a third. I don't think it's in the cards at all, but I'll be dawned if I don't kinda like the looks of it.

Well now is definitely the time to get a little bit of the more 'pie in the sky' out of the system whilst CF is still available to us, and yes, it doesn't look bad at all!

His numbers at Michigan are eye popping & COL has good UM connections. Too bad WPG won't want to send him in-division

Isles easily decline. Jgp at that cap hit is a bargain and they’d give a 2nd. Those are the 2 most valuable pieces in the trade. Also, it wouldn’t cost a 2nd to have a team hold 1.25m in dead cap for 2 yrs. A team would prob do it for a 5th and 6th (maybe a 4th and 6th but not more than that).

I have never bought into the in division thing as much as others. To me, if you're in the gm chair, you take the best offer regardless of who it's from.

The real issue here, imo, is that Colorado doesn't have the assets to make the best offer. That's why I don't think it will happen.

I'm asking a third team to retain 2.5M for two years. I have to think that costs at least a second. If the Isles want to take 1.25M and have someone else take the rest, then I agree that the cost is lower.

I am flexible on the trade. It's a tough one to value. But I do think that JGP to Colorado makes a lot of sense if the Isles want to move on.
