Hawks do not need warm bodies. They can sign ONE free agent at 3 million and fill out the roster with league minimum to get to the cap floor. Hawks are not retaining 7 years for a late 1st. Good luck with your cap problems somewhere else.

This is getting as bad as Leafs fans with Kampf or Vancouver fans with Mikheyev… the Hawks will not pay for CC, attach an appropriate pick and the Hawks may take him.

Also, Chicago is not going to pay $8.75m and tie up one of their three retention spots for seven seasons for one late 1st round pick.

Huberdeau is not a good contract either. I think both could do with a change of scenery. The only way either team can offload their bad contract is trading for an equally bad contract.

Huberdeau for Nurse straight up is the only thing that would make any sense.

You appear to think CHI (or any other team) is really eager to help EDM with its cap and I don't think that's how the NHL works. Tying up a retention slot for 7 years...I don't even know what the cost would be but isn't one late 1st.
