Boston should 100 percent be in on rutger. They have some holes and using the first from the ullmark trade as a base should be a decent start. He would be a great fit on that team and when it’s time to retool, will help speed the process along.

It's a better pick and worse player (so two prospects) than the Flyers got for a better prospect in Cutter. Jets only advantage is Rutger's case is public so more teams could make offers but teams know Winnipeg has zero leverage.

We always hear this about leverage, just like Winnipeg had no leverage with PLD. The Jets leverage is, multiple teams want McGroarty and they have 2 years, so Winnipeg has leverage, no one else does. No one can force or "leverage" the Jets to do anything.

This won't be a competitive offer.

You're not close for Scrotey Groats. The jets would need something far more significant than a late first and two meh prospects.

stop propagating the lie that they have 2 years, they do not.
That's such fake news BS.
NCAA year 3 to NCAA year 4 is 1 year.
If he laces skates for NCAA next year aka year 4, he becomes a FA and it's over with. He will pick his own path as a FA.

To think he has any trade value once hitting the ice for NCAA year 4 is laughable. At that point he is becoming a FA and WPG has no say about anything. You will move him this summer, or he will choose his own team. That's your choices at this point. Because the value of picking your own team, and coming in on a NCAA deal is worth more than signing to a team you are traded to.
The only value he has to work with you, is on a trade this summer.

So you get 1 year to move him, and the more you get on his nerve not helping him, the less likely he is to approve any trade to help you. Don't think he doesn't get to approve it either because he's already committed to not signing and playing in NCAA year 3 if he doesn't get what he wants..... one more year after is no big deal.

They say he will be traded before the draft, I don't think that is necessarily true. However by the end of the summer he will be moved.
They can not wait for him to lace up year 3 in the NCAA.
