Description

TML aren’t getting a clear star back, but they get youth with upside, depth, cap relief and trade/draft capital to keep the window open for AM/WN to compete throughout their prime.

Kakko gets a change of scenery while NYR cut their losses and recoup a 2nd round pick and Lavy’s go-to-guy, Selke-vote Dowd. The best bang for buck 4th line C in the league.

Caps trade for pending UFA Chychrun and Sens get a reliable 2/3 RHD along with two picks, one contingent on Chychrun re-signing in Washington. A B-level prospect could probably be added if necessary.

Nashville adds some more skillplayers under control for a few years to allow their prospects to marinate until they are ready for the big league. Caps get a recent semi-high draft pick and sheds some salary to make room for their UFA-signings

Honestly don’t mind it that much. McMichael is a nice piece and the picks are OK. No interest in Van Reimsdyk and I don’t know much about the other guy. You can take out the 3rd but you’d have to add another prospect (A or B+) to get me to bite.

So I’m not sure Caps would even go this high, so I doubt that sort of prospect would included instead of a third. I’ll give you two options instead:

McMichael, Protas, TVR, 1st 2024, 2nd 2025 and Brent Johnson
Or
McMichael, Nick Jensen, Andrew Cristall, 1st 2025, 2nd 2026, 3rd 2024

Nashville declines. Center is rhe organizations biggest need for now and in the future. Svechkov isnt going anywhere unless we are getting a better C in return.
