Some Cap Casualty Targets

Description
The 1st + Sharangovich isn’t enough for Nikishin, but perhaps taking KK and Kuzy off their books is enough to persuade them or if Nikishin balks at signing with CAR

I’d just prefer a Bigger Young Centre than Pelletier

I’m willing to move Mangiapane and take back Mikheyev to acquire Raty and Podkolzin and the rights to long-shots Klimovich and Kravtsov were he to ever return to the NHL. I could see a similar deal with MTL for Josh Anderson or Dvorak + some of their Prospects as well

Not sure what CAR’s thoughts or plans are for Andersen or what his value is given his blood clotting issues. This Trade doesn’t have to happen, just one of the Cap Casualty targets I could see happening

I like Ryan Graves and feel he’s a better fit for the Flames than Kylington

We filled a need at 3LD with Bahl, but I still want another Big Physical Right Shot Penalty Killing RD to compete with Pachal for 3RD, so I’d like that to be Kovacevic who may be expendable given MTL has a ton of Top-RD Prospects they likely want to give a look see 👀

Nikishin hasn’t signed because he has a contract with ska still and is their captain. He’ll sign his elc in April-June 2025

According to you, there’s a reason Nikishin is still in the KHL for another year and plans are underway for him to sign and play for CAR next season, so we’ll see if that happens

I’m still interested in KK and Kuzy, but would prefer a Top Prospect over a 1st Round Pick if Sharangovich is going the other way

Yes, hence why I have him at LD, I was referring to Kovacevic in that last part, but I’ll clean that up and make it more clear

Yes, his agent said if his contract expired this year he’d be in Carolina now. He will be coming over

I don’t think the Canucks would want Mangiapane unless there was retention involved

It’d be one or the other, not both. Either retention in Mang for 1 season or we take Mikheyev back for the 2 remaining on his contract

I thought I was being generous tbh. Mang would be great in VAN. In fact, I’m expecting him to have a great bounce back offensive season in CGY given he’ll be healthy and looking for a nice new juicy contract for next season

No interest in that from the Canucks. Mangiapane had 14 goals 40 points last year compared to Mik who had 11 goals 31 points. Mangiapane also makes a million bucks more though Mik has the extra year.

1 for 1 and i'd consider it. Definitely not adding podz and raty and kimovich just to get back a 23yr old ECHL player.

I don’t think the value is bad at all, I just don’t think the Canucks would want Mangiapane at his full cap hit. The Canucks also reportedly don’t see Mikheyev as a negative asset and don’t want to pay to dump him

No... Nikishin would be the main piece. Alexander Nikishin is the best prospect currently not in North America and has been the best defenseman in the KHL for the last couple of seasons

Ok wait, I am gonna check his stats quickly just to see how good your talking

Update: Better than i thought you were talking, That is a very good future piece, for the Hurricanes, And that is a Defensemen putting up those numbers better than Ovechkin and Malkin
Yeah, Probably the Main piece by far, Holy Crap that is good

"Nikishin, 22, was the KHL's points leaders among defensemen for the second straight season (56) as well as the league's plus/minus leader (+32)"
