Flames say no. Rather have the picks and Graves is nothing special. Honestly he’s probably negative value taking his contract into consideration. If we are going to bring in an overpaid defenseman we can sign a free agent and keep our picks.

Ok well it can be anywhere and with Kylington still unsigned maybe they would do it. I've seen flames fans make trades similar to this with graves so I just did it

So I guess you’re not really asking if it’s realistic eh? You can’t just make a contract go away like that. Lol.

You said to give you thoughts on the other trades. So maybe you should take that out if your not receptive to the feedback.

It's not. Between Korpisalo and Jarry, that almost 10M in bad goalies, which doesn't fix their goaltending problem.

Norris's value is at a low due to injuries. They'll probably keep him and see if he can stay healthy. If he can't, he's probably career LTIR at that point.

Yeah I guess this is kinda assuming they get rid of korpisalo

It’s not the worst Laine trade I’ve seen? But with retention, and in-division, I feel we could get more.

PIT just doesn’t really have the assets to make a trade with CBJ work, unless they decide to unload premium draft picks, which I imagine Dubai’s is hesitant to do…

Yeah i feel like the retention is what gives him most of his value, and being that pens are one of the only teams able to add him with no retention they might be able to get it done. I think both teams fans want retention included though

Even if they do, I don't see it happening. First, that will cost a lot of assets. They'd have to get rid of Forsberg and Korpisalo. And then, they bring a 5+M bad goalie? If they get rid of one of them, it's to bring in someone that they can have confidence in. Jarry ain't it.

There's only one net. If Jarry isn't your #1, you're paying someone 5M to not play. At least with Norris, he can be shielded and contribute where he can. If his shot is gone, he can still play a defensive game and set up someone else for goals. A miraculous Norris recovery is more likely than a mid to bad goalie finding his game playing for the Sens.

Yet another over the top condemnation of Jarry.

Jarry is far from a "bad goalie."

As for the OTT trade, it's clear what you are saying.
But I think Norris is harder to move than PLD.
Say what you want about PLD, there maybe a disgruntled player there, and there maybe effort issues at times. But lack of talent there is not.
Norris on the other hand, how many times has that shoulder been operated on now? At least PLD is healthy. Norris is on LTIR like clockwork.
That's why OTT wants him moved out. It's hard to build a team with 8 mil in cap in limbo all the time. When he's there he's a good player......but when that is who knows.
I don't think the penguins are at the point where taking that risk makes sense for them. It will be a different situation when they finally come to the realization Malkin is too slow to be a top 6 center. If they get to that realization then you might have something. But they won't be taking that risk in a year they are trying to sign Crosby. They simply can't afford to.

did you smoke while typing this?

Did you see what PLD just went for? I mean really Laine is in the same boat right now. There is no value there for a disgruntled player who wants out and is now labeled a problem child.
This idea that there is great value there is absurd.
But hold off your delusional retort,
because he isn't coming to PIT.
Not because of any value.... but because he'd be no happier on a rebuilding penguins team than he is on a half rebuild CBJ team.
He's not coming to PIT. If that's the plan CBJ gives him, he'll be sitting back home in Finland on player assistance for another year while demanding a trade that suits him. He clearly could give a F about playing hockey at this point if he's not happy. If he did, he would have returned last year. But he didn't.
