I think that's fair given the extra year on Trouba's deal and no salary retention. Ruuta can be a solid 6/7 for NYR or get buried/flipped for future considerations mid season if not panning out.

What's so interesting about this return? Kakko, who isn't worth much right now and looks like a bust or a late first? Othmann is a good prospect, but why would we trade our first-line winger, a local guy who's been very productive for us? We're not rebuilding to take that offer.

Kakko is a guaranteed very good 3rd line NHLer with potential still to be a first line guy. I'm pretty confident Tuch is currently at his peak, which is a great 2nd liner. Then yeah, adding a 1st and Othmann who's a very good prospect near NHL ready, is a lot of value compared to Tuch

Kakko, even if he didn't live up to his potential, is still a two way middle 6 winger on a cheap contract who has the potential to blossom with more ice time that he won't be getting in NY.

His floor is a 15-20 goal, 40 point forward who plays PP and PK while he could still become a 55-60 point defensive minded winger. He is probably worth a 2nd + a small add on the open market.

I do understand Tuch's value is higher to BUF than it is in a trade though. I think the value of Kakko, Othmann, and a 1st is probably about right but understand why Buffalo wouldn't do it

Honestly I’d listen to this for tuch. I’d say yes it it were chytil instead of kakko. Not a dig at kakko’s value, but if I trade tuch I need a C coming back.

Fair deal for Tuch but I dont see why Buf would do that as they are in win now mode also.
