they might, but on an expiring contract i’m not sure how much leverage they’ll have if they’re not convinced he will re-sign. it may be an additional pick or prospect but i don’t think it’s too far off

He makes too much to be a 3c/4c, this is probably why the islanders traded back to get more draft picks because they may have to attach picks to get rid of his contract.
