Bozak is a 60point Centreman and would either require a 1st round pick, but the Leafs would probably be more interested in Max Jones tbh. A big LW that could become a power-forward for their small skilled group.

Leafs dont need another depth defence man as they already have 6 guys fighting for the #6 and #7 spots in the NHL. I think they value him as a 1st rounder to a playoff contender (pick 20-30 in 2018 or 2019).
The leafs would obviously be more interested in Ritchie or Jones, but they would have to retain salary and add a pick to obtain one of them.

If Leafs retained 50% salary on Bozak they would probably move him for Jones for a 1 for 1 no picks involved. Would be a fairly fair trade.

don't the leafs need a #2/3 centre also. trading for futures, doesn't help the leafs this year.

Centre Depth:
1. Matthews
2. Nylander/Marleau/Marner
3. Kadri/Komorov
4. Gauthier/Aaltonen/Hyman

If anything moving Bozak just makes Nylander the centre even quicker.

Now you have watched any Leaf games, you have to know this false. Komarov has NEVER played centre and neither has Hyman. Gauthier is on LTIR January and then I question if he NHL ready. Aaltonen is a 25 year old not so good European, agains he AHL filler. Marner has not played centre in NHL and I'm sure he isn't starting this year. And Marleau has played some at centre but he was paid to the shooter on LW (not Hyman) Now you have a point about Nylander. Are you just looking at the CapFriendly team postings?

Tyler Bozak is 31 years old who has ZERO 60 point seasons. In fact in his 8 seasons, he has 1 season over 49 points.

He is a decidedly average player, who is overpaid and in his 30s. The notion he gets you an elite prospect or a first round pick is delusional

William Nylander is also a 60+ point centerman and is not going to be a UFA next season.

Yea, but ROR in Buffalo who has 61points and 64points in his two most productive gets 7.5m, and Sabres fans think that is a bargain and untouchable? Actually Bozak and ROR had the same number of points last year 55.
I really don't know why the Ducks would need another centre so I don't see the fit.

To answer the original post. What the Leafs would want....Manson. Obviously aren't going to get it, but I don't see the benefit of the Leafs trading Bozak.

Oreilly is a 2 way player and has 5 50plus point seasons and is 27. Bozak is one dimensional and has 1 50 point season and is 31. You dont know what you are talking about

GroverI know you're a Leaf hater and Sabre apologist. I'll agree ROR is better...but the real issue was the value of Bozak. Look what the one faceted Shattenkirk got at TDL, for a two month run. 1 for rounder, 3 players and some conditional picks (which the Blues received none). If a team really needed a 2/3 centre for a year... a pick in high 20s certainly isn't an overpayment.
I'll agree with you, that you know what what you talking about. Your trolling is very accurate, but of course the purpose of trolling is to be inaccurate and just being false in your statements. At that, you're doing a great job.

Everyone can talk about how the leafs would like Jones for Bozak, but there's no way the Ducks move their most promising winger prospect for a guaranteed 1 year rental since the ducks have no chance of fitting his cap in next year and have Steel coming up anyways. They have a surplus of d prospects, and that's what they could move. Welinski or someone similar and a 2nd is likely the best the could do that they'd be willing to. I like the idea from the Ducks perspective, but it may not suit what TOR would want.

I wouldn't be opposed to simply trading a 2018 first rounder though, but wouldn't want to wait until TDL, especially with the injuries to start the season. We can get one back by moving Vatanen after the season ends when we have our shiny cup wink
