Yeah im really not sure about the values. I know buffalo wanted a 1st but probably aren't going to get one. I just assumed a 2nd + 2 bottom 6 guys would be close, but I realize Hallander would probably have to replace Brooks to make this considerable for Buffalo.

I know we dont need Hall, but Tampa didnt need Goodrow or Coleman last year, they overloaded up front and truly went all in. I would personally love that.

I read that Iafallo will probably get moved if they dont agree to an extension by the TDL, and they might move him knowing that he will return in the offseason.

Also I know Oleksiak is unlikely because Dallas probably wants to push for a playoff spot with seguin coming back.

Sujet: My Thoughts On Dubas Plan Right Now
I think a 3rd goalie is a priority.

The leafs know whats going on with Anderson. From what I've read, I think its unlikely to see Anderson back in the next week. We have 5 games from the 12th-19th and I dont expect to see him back for any of those. He MAY be healthy after, but at that point they will have 10 games left, if Campbell is still rolling Anderson maybe gets 5 of those games if he's healthy. You also have to take in to account the likely newly acquired 3rd goalie will get some game time too. I think Dubas and Pridham probably see that they can keep him on LTIR, send him on a 3 game conditioning stint in the AHL prior to the playoffs so he's fresh, and take advantage of that 3 million in cap space.

A depth defenseman, or even another Top 9 forward like Iafallo or Hall wouldn't shock me. If its hall I think Engvall + Picks would be going back the other way to help with the cap hit.

im all down for constructive criticism, however when you are saying the leafs are overpaying losers, and that they're a joke organization it makes it abundantly clear that you are just bitter. if you want people to take you seriously about anything I'd recommend toning down the emotion.

IMO point probably signs around 7-8 x 3, the third year has a salary of ~10mil so his qualifying offer will be 10+

I don't see many people hating his motives. I understand he wants to make as much as he can, but he also at a point has to realize the leafs had to trade 3 regulars to make room for him already, and are still short of his desired AAV. Everyone knows Marner will sign eventually. I think its pretty much clear a 4, 5, and 8 year deal is off the table. 1,2,7 are very unlikely. At 3 Marner will be making close to 9m, and 6 he will be making close to 10m. Still unprecedented value for an RFA winger, and thats what I think is bothering most people. the leafs are saying they will give him a higher cap hit than any RFA winger ever, and he's saying its a non-starter.

This is where the Nylander Dubas assumptions come in. Nylander wanted 8+ on a bridge deal, Dubas wanted 6.6 x 6. They settled on the last day for Dubas' term and 300k more than he wanted. The Jets traded trouba because of their cap crunch, and how he spoke out about how he didn't want to be there for 3+ years. They realized he would leave as a UFA. he had to be moved to retain some value. Pulujarvi has yet to be traded and the oilers made it clear they won't accept anything less that what they believe is fair value.

If Marner doesn't sign by training camp, he won't play this year. The leafs can't afford a pro rated contract. But if you look at his agent Darren ferris, he has a history of sitting out till training camp and then signing for very close to what the team wants.
If the leafs were going to pay Marner 10+ on a short deal, he would be signed now. he's getting 10+ at 6 years+, 4 and 5 years are all but off the table, and 8-9.5 at 2-3 years.

Marner is no more valuable than Aho, and if Dubas proved anything by the Nylander negotiation, he isn't afraid to hold out so that he doesn't sign a player friendly deal.

The leafs would sit out with Marner because there likely isn't deals coming in that would be worth it. The leafs have a window of about 6-8 years where they can contend. Marner sitting out a full season would be far more detrimental to his career than the leafs run. He wouldn't sit out.
