Utah:
-Gains Center and Wing Depth
-Gives up early round pick plus a third for a late round pick for Necas
-Gives up Guenther and a 7th for Rossi and Mojo

Carolina
-Gains a priority pick and a late 3rd for a Necas
-No Loses here as they are attempting to move him. (Public knowledge)

Minnesota
-Gains a Scoring Winger who prefers to shoot the puck (Minnesota needs this as it is ripe with passers), and gains some cap space for a rookie to try and earn their spot. (Might backfire but they need to try something)
-Loses Rossi (Guerin seems he wants him moved, which baffles me given the year he had and that he is a productive center playing top 6)

Unless there is a separate proposal in the works to bring in someone to replace Necas, I don’t think the Canes do that. 6OA is tempting, but Canes don’t have to move Necas and they also don’t want to either. Canes want a star in return for Necas, so I don’t they go this path.

Actually I think it’s a pretty good return for an unsigned UFA with arbitration rights. Carolina hasn’t had a pick anywhere near that high since Svechnikov, though I don’t know how good the top end of this draft is beyond the top two. I agree that they’d probably rather get somebody who could help them now, but if they could use the cap space to sign a UFA to replace Necas, it might be worth it to grab that high draft pick while they can get it.
