You can have Grundstrom, but we don't need Nico Daws. Kings already have a good backup, looking for someone with some experience playing 1A/1B who can be better than Talbot. Daws would basically end up playing 2nd fiddle to Rittich, and that's not a tandem Rob Blake is gonna stake his final season as Kings GM on lmao

Daws is waiver exempt.

Daws is not in the trade to be your number 2. He is there to be the number 3, who can be stashed in the AHL (a veteran may get claimed on waivers and leave you in a **** spot) and come up and play if someone gets hurt

The Kings typically reserve that spot for an NHL veteran. They've had guys like Troy Grosenick, Garret Sparks, Pheonix Copley, and David Rittich in that role. Aaron Dell is the most recent guy to hold that spot, and is the likely candidate to return next season.

Yeah, and we already have our early-mid 20's goalie prospect that can fill in for a handful of NHL games if required with Portillo who has a higher ceiling anyways.
