Kakko is not worth close to a first at this point

Canucks aren’t giving up a 1st for Kakko

i would think kakko returns more like a 3rd at best.

I mean if it takes less then I'm all for it but I'd have no problem flipping Hronek for essentially Vatrano and Kakko.

Kakko had 40 pts last year and has averaged 13-15 mins a game the past two seasons. Edmonton's 1st is the last or second last pick in the round. I don't think NYR is going to just give Kakko away.

kakko had 19 points last year. they're absolutely just going to give him away, and it's because he sucks....which is why he only got 13:17 per game.

Hey if we can get him for a 3rd then I'm all for it. He's a guy I'd be willing to bet on personally.

His underlying numbers have always been strong. He has the draft pedigree that there still might be something there offensively. If not I think he settles into a strong defensively sound third liner.

He's the type of change of scenery guy you take a gamble on imo. If it pans out then that becomes a huge piece to long term success. If it doesn't then oh well you've lost a 2nd round pick (late 1st or 3rd whatever it ends up being) it's not the end of the world.

I also think the Canucks have the coaching staff in place that could get more out of him.

draft pedigree? he was drafted five years ago, who cares? he's bad. he's really bad. watch the guy play...there's a reason he's going to be cheap, and there's a reason he doesn't play much. it's because he sucks.

i think a third round pick is probably an overpay. he's an RFA right? wouldn't be surprised if he doesn't get qualified.
