Ignoring HOW this roster happens. This roster would get me fired up. That being said, I think Brady cost to much for it to make sense for the Hawks at this point.

That is way too much for Ekblad. FLA fans were just proposing to dump him or sell super low, not long ago. He has been nursing injuries the last few years and has taken an early decline in his play. Plus, he is a pending UFA. What he has done while nursing these injuries is no small feat, but he isn't getting back anything like this. FLA is likely moving on from him. The cost to acquire his negotiating rights before free agency will be low, if anything.

Great player who could probably be a "coach on the ice" kind of guy and really help set the bar for our young D and help bring them along, though. And who knows, maybe a couple years of lighter play with a team lower in the standings and some long summers could work wonders for his injury issues.
