Analyzing a Tkachuk type trade with all teams Team 1

Description
Yes the trade involves Marner and we will assume agree to no trade and resigns.

Please give a fair a good analysis. This type of trade to me does not work both sides. It's fair to a point for Anaheim, but are they willing to trade Fowler before their many young defenseman take their next step?
For Toronto does Fowler and strome really make them that much better?

Cannot see Fowler waiving and cannot see Verbeek wanting to spend $12,000,000 on Marner when we will have to pay our whole core the next 2 years

Fowler really does not play his offhand very well, so if you think you're getting a top 4 RD in Fowler, I'll have to burst your bubble.

From Anaheims perspective, you are not asking for anything off limits, if we were interested in acquiring Marner we'd pay this price, but it seems like if you want a top 6 forward and a top 4 D, there's better trading partners elsewhere. Strome isnt bad, but I'd say on his current deal he's just decent.

I agree. It is an excersize I and looking at and as my description states, it does not seem like a worthwhile agreement with both sides.

I was thinking the same thing and Fowler is the only defenseman I can see Anaheim parting with for such a trade. I am looking at all teams and trying to keep deals fair to see if it is worth it, both sides it does not seem so in this case.

It's a hard match to make. You need to find a place that has the cap space, has great depth but a lack of high end talent, and is maybe a Marner away from making some noise in the playoffs.

Natural partners seem like Nashville, get Saros as the headline piece and get a 2nd pairing RD and a pick. They have the best 4-13 group in the league but they've never been able to develop forwards very well.

Other partner I can think of would be Utah, they have the cap space, they have younger pieces that might be of intrigue, and they're more ready to go now. Plus the owner may want to make that kind of a splash.

Last realistic option I see is Seattle. They've got the older pieces to pull it off. Maybe a deal centering around Daccord and Bjorkstrand.

Agreed, then does Trotz pay Marner his money? Ditto for rest. It is very difficult. Trading Marner severely hurts the offense. Thus a good puck moving top 4 DMan is needed back and a forward has to come from somewhere to somewhat replace the 100 points a season lost from Marner.
