So he wants to go from a team who's missed the playoffs for 7 years to a team who's missed them for 13?? If you want him to be traded within the division it's Peterka + Quinn.

Ottawa won’t trade Tkachuk in the divison or in the east just like the Sabres made sure with Eichel. Plus little chance Adams will pull off a big trade always seems to back out.

I love how the Brady thing started as a couple bored analysts saying ‘Brady’s built for playoff hockey imagine him on out there with one of these playoff teams. I wonder what it would take to pry him out of Ottawa.’ To ‘Brady wants out.’

Didn’t the same thing happen to Chris Pronger in Edmonton? We heard a BS rumor that he wasn’t happy in Edmonton and everyone glommed onto it, and the media wouldn’t stop talking about it until they finally forced it into being. In reality, I bet the NHL didn’t like Chris Pronger in Edmonton and wanted him in a bigger market. Anaheim isn’t the media hotbed that another city might be, but it’s a bigger metropolitan area than Edmonton anyway. The same thing happened with Jack Eichel. For years fans of other teams kept saying he wanted to leave Buffalo, as soon as his second season in the NHL. Every year, even as his play improved, we would still hear how he should want out. Eventually he finally did. Of course the NHL benefits getting him to a bigger, new market like Vegas. That said how much do you think the NHL likes having a Tkachuk brother in Ottawa? About as much as they liked having one in Calgary I assume.

I actually enjoy seeing the Seb’s logo pop up in acgm’s!! I just wish the offers were a little more realistic sometimes. Not to say this one was bad by any means. It’s all for fun regardless, I’m sure someone else will take Brady’s spot as the acgm darling soon enough.

I think this speaks to a much larger conversation but at its core I think each situation is different even if there are similarities. If Matthew wanted to stay in Calgary then I’m sure he would’ve made that a reality whether the league wanted it or not. Same goes for Pronger. A final appearance wasn’t enough for him but in reality he got out at the right time.

If Brady wanted out and the league wanted him in a bigger market I’d imagine it would be somewhere other than Buffalo? It’s possible but given Brady’s personality and how they’ve tried to cater to him as they’ve built around him I feel like he’s a senator for life. Dorion prioritized him and I’m sure Staios will do the same.

I’m sure Ottawa has no desire to move him. I also doubt he goes anywhere this summer. But in 3 or 4 years, who knows?
