This team still can't move the puck beyond the top pair. 3 mill for Lybushkin double what he should make.

False, you need a maximum of 23 and a minimum of 20.

McCabe is a sneaky good puck moving d man. I was surprised by it to. Montour and Larson could also interchange. Then you have Reilly on one pair and montour on the other. Not that hard bud😂

Also, lybushkin played in the first line with Reilly last season in the playoffs and played decent. He’s a very solid 3rd pairing d man. He makes $2, 750, 000 right now. With the cap increasing over the next 3 years, $3 mill for a 3rd pairing d man who is capable of playing 2nd pairing minutes is a great deal

Right. But teams rarely run with 20 active players. Making a team with 21 players on the active roster is pointless.

You cannot POSSIBLY believe that San Jose is going to give you pick #33 for Conor Timmins.

Lybushkin at more than 1.5 is a bad deal. He's likely to lose a lot of playing time during the regular season, but does have value in the playoffs but if you definitely want better than him. Liljegren is loads better.

Also Woll is the starter next year. Find someone who can play a fair amount but Woll's the guy.

What GM wouldnt give up that pick for a guy that would be moving to his 5th team already and has played less than 150 games in all leagues combined since 2020?

You understand that Connor Timmins was picked 32nd overall and is a right handed shot d man who had 10 points in 25 games played and only makes 1.1 mill. Also, San Jose has made a lot worse deals than that. So yes, i absolutely think that they would give the leafs a second rounder for him

You said it, he’s good in the playoffs and he can move to 2nd pairing if needed. Second pairing at 3 mill isn’t bad at all,

I love woll, I think he’s a fantastic goalie but he’s so injury prone. We need a goalie that can play 20-30 games or more and be an average to good goalie.

Could’ve said the same thing about Domi too. Timmins was drafted 32nd overall shoots right, decent size, 10pts in 25 gp this season. Only makes 1.1 mill. San Jose has made far worse trades than that

This is amazingly pathetic. Even someone who has never heard of hockey would smell the piles of BS here.

No I did not say he's good in the playoffs, I said he's more valuable in the playoffs but you definitely want better than him. He has absolutely no ability to move the puck.

Woll will get some injury luck this year I hope. But I bet a new off season trading regime will get him better prepared for the rigors of the regular season. And then he's the best option we have.

You know what you get with Ilya, not every defencemen is going to be able to move the puck efficiently lol. Hence the different styles of defencemen. He is good in the playoffs for what he is. He played 2 seasons now with the leafs in the playoffs on the first pairing and was solid both seasons.

Pathetic? San jose defence is absolutely atrocious. Name 1 player other than Ferraro off of the sharks that is better than Timmins?

Irrelevant. Timmins isn't worth a 2nd no matter how bad SJ's defense is.

The problem with Lybushkin is his lack of puck skills hurts the transition so badly. When you a have a guy like Rielly being completely nullified because everyone knows Lybushkin can't handle or pass the puck it's a problem. Doesn't matter if he doesn't get scored on much if he makes it to he never is on the ice for a goal for.

That’s why you get a guy like montour who can move the puck very well and you have Reilly too. You need defensive minded d men on your team.

Timmins was draft 32nd overall. Essentially that’s a first round drafted player. He’s been injured but with the time he’s played so far he has 31 points in 91 games in a small role. He’s also a +10 in NHL games. Among all of the other stuff I already said. If the sharks want to go big fish shopping it’ll cost them ALOT more than a second round pick. He’s a great 3rd pairing option on a steal of a contract.

It is most definitely relevant

Lots of people care about where someone was drafted. Its shows the potential the team th at drafted him saw in him. He’s been injured only reason why he hasn’t played many games. He’s definitely a 2nd pairing guy on a lot of teams.

Connor Timmins would have been playing on the d core if he wasn’t injured so often. He has 10 points in 25 games. He would go to San Jose and instantly be one of if not there best d man
