Description

I get this weird feeling Elias Lindholm will be Lou's target if he can shed enough cap. He could be the piece to round out the Isles top line (or be a strong 2C should Nelson play wing permanently next year instead)

I also really like Trenin and think he's an undervalued guy. If $2.5m is too much to spend on the fourth line, you could plug Fasching there and allocate more money ($5.25m or so) to a better middle-6 player than Henrique

They have cap space because they have several holes in the lineup, including 1C or a 2C. Pageau isn't either and doesn't have a good contract.

boston makes no sense. they need a top end center. they have ample depth, and have no need to take on a less than great contract for an older player. they've probably got five options at center they'll like more than Pageau before even factoring in contracts.

Center depth is not poor, they have a pile of depth centers, don’t need another one. They need a #1, he is not.

That's probably about $2MM too much for Lindholm. I can't see him getting more than $6MM on a 7-year deal.
