Lindholm probably getting PAID this offseason. Doubt he gets below 6 and that is partly due to the lack of center options this free agency.

I could 100% see that. I think if it was a more C rich class then this would be more likely.

I keep seeing this Canes trade but I really don’t think Carolina is interested in Ully anymore. That was before the deadline and Freddy and Raanta were both out. They were probably considering a trade for a cup run but then Freddy came back

The only way it makes sense for the Canucks to take on KK is if Mikheyev is going back to Carolina in the trade

Lindholm is gonna get 7M+

I just don't think the Canes trust Freddie after that playoff run.

I’m 100% with you. The rumor crept back up and ppl are jumping on board but that’s the key context to it all. Ullmark is better and healthier but not sure how big of an improvement this would be for canes. Think it’s likely they just give Koochie the reins next year and see if he’s the guy.

I like Necas well enough but there's no way he's worth a 1st round pick, a recent 1st round pick, AND last year's Vezina winner

I think he’ll get more than what’s listed here largely bc of scarcity of position this summer, but just bc he turned down that offer last year doesn’t mean he’ll get that or more this summer.

Had a rough year and somewhat rebounded in playoffs but I think you’d be hard pressed to find a team willing to give him 60+. I’d guess 6-7x6.5.-7.

if lindholm is signable at 6x6.5 why wouldn't boston just go that route instead of trading a haul (they're not giving up that) for a guy taht can't play center?

in fairness, 6.5 in carolina is like 600K after taxes than what $8M is in calgary, and the team is a heck of a lot better.

If he were to sign here, probably. Might be able to get 7th year and a tad bit more elsewhere so depends what he’s looking for.

I know in the NBA, non bonus payment structures also take in account taxes in states you play in on the road. There are tax disincentives to bonus structures, but cap protections that happen because of them are worth it to some players.

My perspective is tax benefits between states are often overinflated because these guys have highly skilled tax professionals managing their taxes.

The big value of Florida is if you want to live their year round and you don’t have to pay for the second house.

It wouldn’t shock me if a deal like this happened. Andersen just had a season where he played 16 games and we don’t know the long term ramifications or implications to his health. Are the clots definitely non recurring?

That isn’t a massive risk on a one year contract, but depending on him could be.

There are arguments both ways with both teams. That’s generally a sign the trade has some fairness to it. 90 percent of all cap friendly deals are brutally one sided. The 10 percent that aren’t are generally because the deal is obvious

That's already our rumored goal. Lindholm is priority after Sway. There's too many guys we could sign so there's no need for us to make this trade imo. Lindholm & Bert and the top 6 is solid

Didn’t say they didn’t. They absolutely do. Saying the amounts paid are different than the person who is using HR Block software to do their taxes.

I’d be stunned if anyone who is making 7 or 8 million a year are taking the standard deduction

Lindholm doesn't make it to free agency for that price. Canucks pass going to have to add a big sweetener for us to take a 4x6 cap dump
