While it is very preliminary on voting, I would have some top guys in mind that can win it. Clayton Keller, Charlie McAvoy, Thomas Chabot, and Joel Eriksson-Ek are my favorites to win the Calder. It wouldn't surprise me to see one of these guys winning it over the other, but it would surprise me if someone like Nolan Patrick, Anders Bjork, Ho-Sang, or Sergachev win it. Boeser, Hischier, and Strome are teetering for me.

I think that, if I had to narrow it down to one winner, I would go with Clayton Keller of Arizona. Given the new addition of Derek Stephan, and the plausible projection that Keller can play LW besides him, it gives me comfort for my selection.

I feel that it's either Keller or McAvoy. Keller is extremely dynamic with the puck, I don't think a 60 point season is out of question at all. This may not be a popular opinion, but I feel that McAvoy could be Boston's #1 defenseman by seasons end. He's so responsible in all three zones. I ultimately believe that it will be McAvoy, given that he should produce a ton as a defenseman, plus the attention for Keller in Arizona is a lot less than what McAvoy will get. Boeser, JEE and Chabot round out my top 5 candidates

I agree with the McAvoy contention. I think people will undervalue him as a Calder candidate due to him being a defensemen. I think he can be the No. 1, but I also think that Krug is going to be hard to de-throne. Clayton Keller can probably put up 60 points, contingent on health.

I'd say McAvoy. Also, I don't think Boeser is in consideration here sadly. He plays for a terrible team, that lacks good forwards other than him and Horvat. Put him on any other team and he should be top 5 no matter what, but the Canucks lack of being able to put out a team that can compete will hurt him in the Calder race

I could see someone like Ho-Sang/Connor/Debrincat being put in a very favorable position and racking up enough points to lock it up

Keller has a better chance than him IMO. Why do you say Strome?

Junior production doesn't correlate to NHL production.

Dang it

It was that Seinfeld GIF, where Jerry and Costanza are in NBC studios talking about their show, where George proclaims the show is about "nothing!". Nothing, also the reason for Strome being better than Keller

According to your logic, Yakupov should be a superstar and Brian Hart is a beast

Brian Hart is a beast, and Yakupov is a superstar. In midget hockey, that is

Do you have any sort of substance to support this claim? Not "oh he had x points in Juniors...". I'm talking players who replicated the same production as you predict Strome to have
