Description

Ottawa should be a team that wants to compete, I know they need/want a RD, but would this be interesting for them? They move back 7 spots in the draft but also get rid of the tank of a contract that Korpisalo has. This feels like it’s rather fair, if anything I lean towards Ottawa maybe adding a 2nd or 3rd to get fair value, but I could be wrong with my opinion.

I think the buyout cost of Korpi is tolerable enough for the Sens to consider a buyout before moving a high pick to offload the contract. Especially with how expensive goalies will be this off season and the lack of bona-fide #1s in FA.

The Sharks would take #7 for #14 to dump Korpisalo. The Sens wouldn't do that.

Depends on the organizations situation. Islanders traded back to add another 2nd rounder because they have a very thin prospect pool and need to prioritize adding. Maybe an organization drafting in top 10 feels it already is loaded with solid defensive prospects and thinks they can move back and still get the player they want.

Sharks should probably attempt to grab one of these top tier D guys but taking a 4/$4mil cap dump to move 7 spots seems crazy.
