Boston needs a top6 center that can powerplay. If Ullmark is their biggest trade piece, they're going to have to use him to get the commodity they're most looking for.

That seems a bit overstated. Girard is a good top 4 guy on a reasonable contract, Georgiev is a middle of the road starter with a reasonable contract and only 1 year of term left.

girard is awesome. its a fit thing. the bruins aren't taking on a contract just to block lohrei. also girard isnt exactly the type of LD they would want to pick up. If the bruins are trading ullmark, its for cap purposes, Georgiev makes almost as much as ullmark, so that's not going to work either.

So no, I don't htink it's overstated. I think taking on these two contracts is a net negative for boston.

this year's playoffs showed up that georgiev can actually be capable of showing up. i don't think the avs should ride the "shop for a goalie" train anymore, unless it's a cheap backup like raanta. plus, they shouldn't trade girard imo
