Still no. Carolina are going to want a top six replacement for Necas. Carolina's prospect pool is probably better than Detroits, they don't need more B prospects. They need scoring help.

Yeah, no. Detroit's prospect pool is not THAT good. Not better than San Jose, Buffalo, Columbus or Anaheim. It's closer to something like Utah or Minnesota. It's not top 5

But in reality he thinks he knows more than the experts. Which makes ridiculous statements like this even funnier.

If Carolina is moving Necas for cap space taking on Fabbri and his $4M cap hit practically nullifies the cap space saved by moving Necas.

Fair point. In that case, take out Fabbri and add a 4th or so

Nope! I give my opinions backed up with stats and facts, you just throw BS accusations around! Keep talking though, we need to see how many of the substances you consumed to endure the Sharks this year are still running through your system!

It actually is ranked by the professionals who write about prospects as the 2nd best behind Buffalo. Not trying to start an argument, it's not my opinion, it's what the top professionals think.

When? Because it's not in the same class as a lot of those right now. Before the season? Yeah, I could see that. But at this stage, no

They put out an article in like feb or something and ranked all the prospect pools and wings were 2. I can see if I can find that list if you are really curious whose where

Please do, because Detroit's pool is not better than San Jose's. No disrespect, but you don't have anything that compares to Smith. Plus, they now have Celebrini. I was more wondering if this was before the Gauthier trade to Anaheim, because I think he puts the Ducks above the Wings too

Because outside Smith, SJS’s Top 5 is not remotely close to Detroit’s.

Not sure why you’d think Celebrini would be taken into account considering the list was done in February. I’d imagine when post draft rankings come out, SJS will move up considerably. Until then, still Detroit over SJS.

Musty is another STUD in the Sharks system, Edstrom, Thompson, and Graf are all REALLY nice prospects too that weren't there when this list was made. It's why I'd have it above Detroits. Smith is the best prospect in either system right now, and with Celebrini... it's not close for me

Edstrom/Musty/Thompson/Graf ain’t quite matching up to Danielson/Kasper/ASP/Cossa/Augustine lol.

It’s not even SJS’s fault. Detroit’s had 5 Top 20 picks the last 3 years, has seemingly hit on all of them, and moves at a snail’s pace calling them up, so they don’t graduate prospects as quickly. Haven’t graduated anybody since the 2020 draft.

See, I think you're underrating Musty in particular here. I think the best prospect in either list is Quentin Musty. Detroit's system is very good for the reasons you mentioned, but Smith alone adds that top tier blue chip prospect that Detroit just don't have

After going to Portland and shutting everybody up about his offensive potential, I'd take Danielson over Musty. Edvinsson isn't at Smith's level but to say he's not a blue chip prospect is laughable. Danielson too, for that matter.

Realistically ASP has the highest ceiling of any of them... But also massive bust potential.

Edvinsson isn't blue chip like Smith is. I'm not saying Edvinsson isn't a blue chip guy, but Smith has the best potential of perhaps any drafted prospect not under contract right now

Never said Smith wasn't. (Would put Michkov above him, but nobody else) Realistically, it's elite 1C potential vs. high end to elite Top pairing D potential. I agree Smith wins.

... It's just not even close after that lol.

I mean, Celebrini (I get he's not technically in their system yet, but Grier didn't even act like he wasn't going to pick Celebrini) kinda destroys the rest of the Detroit farm system too. And I still think I'd take musty at 3
