Unrealistic Marner Trade and Options for the next Leafs head coach

Description
Head Coach Options:
- Craig Berube
- Joel Quenville
- Todd McLellan
- Jay Woodcroft
- Bruce Boudreau
- Gerard Gallant
- Claude Julien
- Guy Boucher
- Dale Hunter
- Rod Brind’Amour

I really hope it’s Berube, really hope that it is not Boucher, so a lot of good options and I’d be fine with any of them.

Ottawa gets a 20 goal, defensive forward, with experience and a good salary.

Rossi probably 60-70 point guy and Gusty can be our 1A, 1B for the next few years. We move up 10 picks in the draft to eventually trade for Hronek.

Hawks give up a mid second rounder to take a chance on Lily possibly turning into a good top 4 defender. Give him a 2x2.5M bridge deal. And let’s just say Leafs could draft Dean Letourneau or Adam Jecho it’s a win-win.

It’s unlikely but let’s just say Canucks and Hronek can’t agree on a contract. Niemela won’t be Hronek but if he could be a middle pairing then that isn’t nothing. There is nothing of interest for the Leafs so the Canucks give us a massive upgrade on Lily for some offence from the blue line.

Flames get some defensive depth and we get the 6’8 beast from Czechia. Basically the Timmins and Douglas trade.

Liwosky had a great year in the dub and maybe that can transfer to the AHL.

Need to resign Dewy, he was actually great for us and a big reason for the PK getting better overtime and he hustles.

Give Nicky Robby a bit more money and hopefully some more ice time and then he may get the big money.

Hope Steeves gets some NHL time this year, even if it is only 10-15 game but he deserves a shot.

I don’t know how much money Hronek will get because at the beginning of the year he was playing like a 8 million dollar d-man and towards the end it slowed down a fair bit so I could see anything from 6.5 to 7.5.

Raska is just throw in, he is little but gritty as hell and just a player for the Marlies.

I can guarantee that the Leafs will have a guy named Adam Klapka on the roster by next season.

Can’t let Domi go, he had so much chemistry with Matthews and clearly loves playing for the Leafs. And also he hasn’t been able to find a home and where better than his hometown.

Edmundson was so impressive in the playoffs, he is willing to thrown that extra hit and block crucial shots, so hopefully he’s back next year.

I’m sure the Nucks will resign Dak but if they don’t please come to the Leafs. He is so fun to watch and kind of reminds me of Hyman a bit.

Sherwood just feels like a guy that Brad wants in his bottom 6 and he shouldn’t cost much at all.

“Matt Roy doesn’t want to play in Canada” yes I understand that but for just one year of his life I’m sure he’ll be fine with that 5.5 mill and if he wants he can walk next offseason.

Kulikov can come in any night and bring a physical presence if necessary.

Blandisi had a pretty impressive season on the Marlies, 60 points and 100+ PIM’s so I’d like to see him get an NHL contract and maybe play a couple games.

Zach Solow the same thing, don’t have 60 points but had like 130 PIM’s I believe so let’s just see.

Leafs need to give Bellows an NHL contract because he was unbelievable this year and maybe he turns into a fourth liner for us.

Highly doubt that Dean Letourneau will be available at pick 48-50 but even if it is Adam Jecho that’d be fine because he’s also 6’5.

Knies - Matthews - Domi:
Knies was probably the Leafs second best forward for Leafs in the playoffs, he deserves top line minutes.

Joshua - Rossi - Nylander:
I know that this line would be so fun to watch. 6’3 Dak protecting shrimpy little Rossi and Willy Styles.

Robertson - Tavares - McMann:
JT is a true professional, giving them a full year with them will help Robby and Bobby.

Dewar - Kampf - Sherwood:
I mean it is a fourth line, you don’t expect nothing but hard forecheck and trying not to get scored on.

Rielly - Roy:
Give Rielly somebody that can shut it down and recover some mistakes that Mo may make.

Edmundson - Hronek:
Leafs need some production from the blue line. Hronek is that and Edmundson will let him do his thing and shut it down.

McCabe - Benoit:
This pairing has been more than any of us could have asked for. Both good defensively, hit anything that moves and Caber led our defence in goals this season.

I trust Woll and Gusty to be able to split games. They have both showed signs of being “elite goalies”.

PP:
Spread out the power plays a little bit because loading up the pp has not worked very well. And the power play is so predictable and hardly ever can they enter a zone clean.

PK:
Need a new penalty kill strategy, the last few games against the Bruins was good but it was only 10 minute sample though it did look good.

I can guarantee they don't have an Adam Klapka if that's your offer.

What’s the price? I knew this wasn’t enough but just wanted him 😂

I don't know what the price would be, he's been really good in the playoffs with the Wranglers so far. He's still waiver exempt next season so I can't see us being in a rush to trade him.

Klapka likely gets a good long look in the NHL next year so Calgary won't be selling low on him before they even know what he's going to be.

I hope so, and not on the 4th line unless we try to change their identity. Just not sure how we make room for him.

CHI declines. Remove the 2nd and it's closer, but I'm not sure CHI would have interest in Lily in the first place.

I’m not sure I’d be willing to send over those exact picks. But I think the Hawks should be interested in a player like Lily. We don’t have very many RHD prospects in our system at the moment, and I think Lily still has potential as an NHL regular. Something could be worked out.

Maybe the Hawks 3rd rounder and the Sens 3rd this draft? Would be the 62nd and 72nd overall picks
