Notes:
-CBJ picks Anton Silayev 4th overall, but does not sign him to an ELC straight out of the draft.
-My idea is to clear the roster logjams, most notably on defence. Mateychuk and Jiricek should both be on this roster next season.
-Greaves could be ready for at least a backup role, but I feel like rolling with three NHL goaltenders is smart with our injury history.
-Bringing in a veteran, stay-at-home defenceman to help mentor the young defenceman is a good idea I feel. Doesn't necessarily have to be Dillon.
-If relatively healthy, this team could potentially challenge for a wild card spot next season. A safe estimate is probably 6th in the metropolitan division, and 21st-24th in the league. Shouldn't expect consistent playoff appearances until at least 25/26, however 26/27 seems like a safer bet. Whatever new GM comes in will probably take the 24/25 season to assess what they're working with and what changes really need to be made.
-One major thing I'd like to outline. If this team is bottom 5 again, I believe it's time to consider a whole new approach. Not necessarily saying tear it down completely, but tough decisions will need to be made.
