The only issue with this in my mind is that we would have roughly $41 million dollars tied up into our top 6 with Marner needing an extension the same time as Bouch and Drai. The value is great for us but cap wise it kind of makes our terrible situation much much worse

Honestly I'd do this and just let Marner walk into FA, frees us up from a Campbell buyout and Kane has somewhat declined so a potential* buyout there too in June 2025.
Gets us a winger for Drai too which we needed.

We may be able to even re-sign Marner, if the cap gets to 92M, Drai signs for ~13.5M, Bouch ~8M and Cloud ~3M we could do Marner at ~10M and still have enough for a ~ 4M RHD and ~1M backup for Skinner.

Most of our guys step up in the playoffs, hopefully that rubs off on Marner. Otherwise you can't dedicate $11M in cap to him no matter how good he is in the regular season.
