The Jets probably look at that. It's unlikely Pulock waives though.

Would love to target Pulock, part of me holds out hope that he would waive since he's a Dauphin, MB boy but who knows.

Yeah, I'd like to believe that as well. But the tax situation is pretty hard to get around.

It sure would be nice though.

Allen Walsh one of the most respected agents debunked the tax thing like 3 yrs ago. Why is this still a talking point? He pointed out a to of programs and tax exemptions for hockey players in Canada that basically put them on part with most US locations.

Well as a Canadian that lives and works in the US, I don't buy it. Yes, it is easier to hide your money when you make a lot, but in the end, the government will stick it to you somehow and the US has a much better tax rate.

Sure, it isn't important to all players, but some aren't going to want to go back.

yes lets believe you instead of someone those job it is to get their clients as much money as possible. Canada actually has actually has tons of deferral taxation options that really go limit the taxes you pay as long as you can afford to have some of your money tied up.. which an athlete making millions certainly can. Also I believe NY state has an almost 48% tax rate to manitoba's 50% so like 100k a year difference before applying all the things Canada lets him do. Oh and thats assuming all his games are played in NY or MB which they aren't... He would actually get a tax break playing in the west compared to the east so really the taxes likely a wash but here keep that narrative alive.

Yup. Believe what you want not what the players actually say and do. If you're happy with believing that great. I'll stick with the the actual reality of what players do.
