Good draft capital and if RHD is of interest, in this situation there is 6M to spend in FA. Pesce, Roy, Montour potentially available.

Unfortunately, Winnipeg can't count on signing big name UFA's, it just doesn't happen. They need to trade for players with term or add lower profile players. A top 4 RHD FA won't be a possibility.

Very true. I honestly don't think this trade is possible because of that but I believe Ehlers and Barzal together would be perfect.

Hate to break it to you, but Winnipeg has to acquire their talent through drafting and trading. UFAs who are talented enough to be picky with where they wanna play don't pick Winnipeg.
