don't think we should go big game hunting on the goalie market. We should assess cheap options. Sign a couple solid 1B's and maybe make a trade if it's for a cheap goalie with some term that is low risk. (Lindgren or Ingram maybe). Also assess KHL market. There are plenty of good goalies available after next season that we can maybe go for when we are really trying to be competetive.

Also not a fan of that Pittsburgh trade at all, don't want to go anywhere near Rakell and his contract.

Rakell has the problem of having a 37 year old center. Say what you will but giving him a young talented center goes a long way.

Norris on the other hand is a player hard to describe. If he can stay healthy it's great. But he's got 3 shoulder surgery's now. What you get is a guy constantly messing with your cap.
Not reliable enough to fill your need, but always just healthy enough that you can't perm LTIR him and actually build your team with that 8 mil in cap space for the next 6 years.

The potential headache of the cap just isn't worth it. Especially if the goal in PIT is to keep playing Malkin at center. What do they need an oft injured 8 mil 3C for?
They got a handful of potentially younger guys and Eller isn't a bad 3C still.

Pittsburgh needs to get younger and they also need center capable to create offence. This offer brings that, although it's very risky, I'd jump on this.
