On one hand idk why Carolina would take futures for Necas on the other they're allergic to giving extensions so maybe it happens. If you're giving that much money to Lindgren just spend it in UFA on Tanev or Skjei and keep the picks

Personally, I have a hard time seeing the Canes pass on that offer. Cristall is legit and could feature in the top 6 for a long time. Jensen would really help minimize the potential loss of Skjei and Pesce, especially if Chatfield also leaves.

The only way I see the Canes looking the other way is if a big name top 6 upgrade (like a M. Tkachuk) were to suddenly becomes available.

Canes probably do it without Jensen. If they lost Chatfield (which they should never let happen), then maybe Jensen.

Lindgren is 4+ years younger than both and has played better than them this season. I would rather get a somewhat young shutdown d-man for the long term than 2 older ones for 1-2 years.

I will agree to disagree on the better than both part but even given that, that 25 unprotected first is such a good asset I'm not giving it up unless I'm getting either a guaranteed star or a guy with a ton of upside. Lindgren was pretty clearly the 4th D for the Rangers this year and at 26 is probably not going to grow much and doesn't really fit either bill
