Description
Montreal drafts Demidov and he stays in KHL for the last year of his current deal

Montreal doesn't make any big moves in Free agency and sticks with a similar lineup as last year. I think the roster gives them a chance at being similar to Detroit in the sense they stay in the playoff hunt for most of the season.

I don't expect them to make it cause Ottawa Buffalo and Detroit should also stay improving while the other teams in the Atlantic shouldn't fall to far from their current stand.

Trades:
Ylonen needs a change of scenery badly, He's still fairly young and I think he can produce well in a depth scoring role. I can't see Montreal resigning him with their logjam of Wingers so unless someone like Anderson/Pezz/Gally/RHP/Armia are moved I think his spot is lost.

Barron will likely be the victim of Montreal's defensive depth. Mallioux is likely ahead of him Offensively and both have shown struggles in their own end at the AHL level and Barron at the NHL Level which makes me believe he could be expendable if MTL wants to move up in the draft.

Norlinder, Once one of the better D prospects we had has now lost his spot and is likely headed back to the SHL since im sure he'd rather play closer to home then in the AHL again.

Not interested in turning a recent 1st round pick with waivers protection into a bottom pairing RHD that's worth at best a mid round pick, even if MTL adds.

Hawks decline. They don't need any more bottom 6 forwards. And a 4th for Ylonen is pretty optimistic anyway. Also can't see Anaheim trading away a former 1st round pick after just one pro season. And as you stated, Montreal definitely adds in that deal.

Yeah I kinda just picked the hawks cause they gotta put players on the ice eventually, i think Ylonen would more so be gone for Future considerations or a 6/7th draft pick. Really just think he needs a new team

Waivers exempt is a big thing, Gaucher has multiple years remaining, Barron has none, and Anaheim doesn't need another pick moving defenseman, at all.

We'd be more interested in Kovacevic.

Less than no interest from ANA. Maybe Gaucher doesn’t turn a corner, but I have no problem running that risk compared to a return of Barron and a ‘meh’ pick
