Just an idea from different posts/discussions on here. I tend to think Anders Lee would waive for CHI. his wife is from here...he went to Notre Dame...He'd be the 4th guy off the top of my head that came to CHI because his wife is from here. Family means more than hockey in real life terms. In fandom terms sure I get the negativity about coming to a rebuilding team, but much of that isn't realistic. Guys get drafted to whatever team picks them...not their childhood fan favorite teams. Real life situations play out in NTC lists. Not just who won the presidents trophy the year before.

For anyone looking to send a 3rd or less to the NYI...this a massive jump in the draft. Just for example...if the Hawks wanted to jump from #20 to #18...they'd need to send either this VAN 2nd or the CHI 3rd...just for 2 spots.

For the NYI fans balking at the trade...it's $12M in cap space for 2 years! It's going to cost a lot.
