Ottawa declines. Not even a 1st round pick included. Undrafted junior overagers don't typically have much success and I wouldn't consider him a great prospect.

I said good not great. Funk isn't an elite prospect but he's a good one nonetheless. I think a 2nd+prospect+defensive defensemen(a team need)+a really good depth center who's cheap is enough to land a pretty good offensive defenseman who sucks at defense. Y'all sens fans really over value Chychrun. He has pretty good offensive awareness but hes never made it over 41 points, He has injury troubles which is why he only has one 82 game season and no other seasons where he's played more than 68 games, he only has 3 seasons where he has a positive +/- and has a career -69 +/-. Really the only thing he has going for him is that he's somewhat young and he is a minute eater.

No chance. JVR is the only piece of interest. A late 2nd, 4th liner, and overager prospect don't move the needle. 1st round pick must be included.

Not even close for Jakob Chychrun, Detroit beats that offer and the same with Pavell Buchnevich.

The Blues are gonna need you to condense whatever value you feel is in that offer down to 2-3 pieces. And they should be something the Blues would actually want in order to give up Buch. Other than the mid 1st, there's nothing to serve their needs there.

Nothing to serve their needs is funnytears of joy isn't it the blues who need a top 4 defensive defenseman(jensen), secondary scoring(milano) and good/great prospects for the future(cristall&1st). The entire deal is tailored to the blues needs.

I love Buch but I'm not paying that price for him. Just wait for UFA.

I don't mind the trade for Buch

Just feels like too many pieces coming back. Condense it down and it'll be better. Instead of Milano AND Jenson, one player that holds similar value

Plus a d-man is nice to come back, but we already have 4 borderline immoveable contracts. Can't be adding more big money on the back end without moving someone out first

I feel like the 24 1st + Iorio + a 3rd makes more sense for the Blues. If it's the salary hit that's the issue, I'd imagine there should be no issues with retention of Buchnevich. I just don't see much of a reason the Blues would want to take Jensen back unless we moved on from Faulk. Kessel is going to get ice time next year to start the year, he's somewhat earned not being blocked. No issue with Milano coming back but I don't think he really fits much of a need here, don't love the contract, but certainly not a back breaker.

Not sure if Washington and St. Louis are good trade partners for this since I'd say both are in similar positions in terms of a retool and trying to remain competitive while also not getting rid of major young pieces for their future. don't know much about lorio but that still feels underwhelming for a return. Would rather Samuelsson, 25 1st and Rosen from Buffalo. Krebs would be nice too somehow.

Just don't see a Buch trade happening at this point but who knows. Will be a long offseason I reckon, and one that may end up being underwhelming

I'm sure I am in the minoriy of what Blues fans will think, but I actually really like Cristall and would be excited about him being a piece. Obviously Defense should be the focus in a trade though.

For me, Cristall is a small winger who is nowhere near as good a skater as one would want a small winger to be. I certainly would not want him to be the main piece in a Buch trade. That would upset me.

But yeah, if we trade Buch it should be precisely for what we need. No settling for "value".

The Blues need a top 4 LD. And good to great Dman prospects. And Milano just blocks our wing prospects, who will be far better than him before too long.

So no, it is not tailored to Blues needs. And there's too many pieces. They're not looking for a stack of nickels and dimes for a top line winger they're aiming to extend.

I agree. I want Armstrong to see if he can get a reasonable deal on our window for Buch first. I saw someone trade buch with a 5 x 7.5 extension and I was like why aren't the Blues paying that.

Jensen isn't exactly ideal unless we were to find a deal to move Faulk out. And even then, we have a deficiency more so on guys who are solid two-way defenders or a high end defenseman that can control the game. Wouldn't consider Milano a large secondary scoring option, but again, I don't think his contract is too prohibitive. He's more of what we have, inconsistent secondary scoring. We have loads of guys that can score towards that 40-50 point pace. We have nobody that fills the role of a second line scorer. Not that i'd expect that back in a Buch trade, but when you look at secondary scoring and where the issue is I don't think Milano is a guy that you could consider filling the hole to help fix our second line or even compliment it.

I'm not denying that Cristall is a solid prospect. And the 1st is certainly of interest. We have loaded up so much on forward prospects and neglected defensive prospects to a degree that adding another and putting a value on it doesn't make a ton of sense.
