Future Considerations. Chicago can rebuild his value by giving him top 6 ice time, and trade him as a rental next year or during the trade deadline, to a team who needs speed and an elite penalty killer on the wing.

    3. Choix de 4e ronde en 2026 (VAN)
    Détails additionnels:
Canucks need to dump cap to retain players. Mikheyev is the odd man out. He is a good player, but Canucks have better options. I doubt they get value back, most likely they have to pay to get rid of him because of their cap situation.

Future considerations. Tampa Bay has Brent Seabrook LTIR contract expiring. They can use Tucker Poolman contract to get more cap space during the season, to use at the trade deadline.

      Détails additionnels:
Canucks are going to be up against the cap, and not in any position to weaponize LTIR

From the Hawks point of view. I think a 2nd is sufficient, but would take the 4th if you're offering.

Seabrooke is done not a snowballs chance in hell TB does that. Even if he weren't poolman would cost for TB to take. You have no clue how LTIR works apparently from your comment you can never gain Cap space from LTIR if you don't have to some not on it

I am expecting hard ball negotiations due to the Canucks cap situation. Chicago squeezed a 2nd from the Canucks for Dickinson who made $2M less than Mikheyev. Yes, Mikheyev is the better player but cap space is valuable. The extra 4th should make up for the difference. Either that, or they go to Anaheim or San Jose with the same offer, if Chicago gets too greedy. But they have a good relationship with that Blackhawks front office, so I expect a deal to get done

Poolman will never play in the NHL again, especially not next season. It’s the same situation as Seabrook. They can use his $2.5M to exceed the cap limit by ≈ $2M at the trade deadline. Assuming they spend the season below $87.7M, with Poolman’s contract on the books. If Tampa isn’t interested, Carolina is another option.

Canucks own the Pacific division. They are going to lead the Pacific for years to come, and get a lot of easy first round matchups, due to weak wild cards in the West. And once you get past the 1st round, it’s a flip of a coin. And Canucks core is young enough to have multiple runs at this. The odds are that they win at least one Cup

And TB only took seabrooke to dump 5,000,000 cap hit albatross that was Tyler Johnson which was how it opened cap space maybe if TB had a really F***Ed contract it was looking to dump like TJ's yeah otherwise it's absolutely useless and TB would be financially responsible for the minimum 20 %uninsured portion of the contract in real dollars. Dumping Poolman will cost you they won't do it free either

If they can stay under the cap with his 2.5 on the books place him on LTIR then and get the relief they can acrue more TDL cap space not having that 2.5 million on the roster all year.

Hawks probably accept. Tampa Bay definitely doesn't. Tampa wants to get out from using LTIR. They want to be able to accrue cap space during the season. If Canucks want to move Poolman, they need to send him to a team looking to get to the cap floor. But even then, nobody is taking him for free.
