Sharks pass! We already are set in net for next year and moving up 7/8 spots in the draft isn’t worth paying 2.7 salary for a guy buried in the minors

considering you will need to reach the cap floor you don't do this? Its not exactly like your franchise cant afford the few million, plus you'll be paying it to other players anyways. Why not make the AHL team way better?

Seems like a big reaction to adding on like 1.5 mil of dead cap for one season

Cap floor is not an issue. We have Couture, Vlasic and our dead cap equalling over 24M. that is going to be 1 roster spot. Grier takes on some veteran forwards to allow the prospects another season in the AHL. 10-15 M in contracts. We dont need to add another Dorian failure at a discount

Why throw an older cap Dump in the AHL and stunt the development of the younger Goalies with more legit upside? Why waste money when we can find a decent piece to improve the team or a better cap dump that returns more draft capital? And why does everyone think the sharks will be willing to take bad cap dumps for free cause we need to spend money? No team in the NHL does another team any favors, remember this when creating these

First of all, there are no favors here lol. Its not like this is for nothing, you're moving up in the draft. Why wouldn't you do this?

You got from 18 mil in free cap to 16. There is nothing to lose. I get you don't like being the go-to team for stuff like this but there is no reason not to do this. Plus it'll help out other GMs who could return the favor in the future.

I get being upset over taking on higher deals with term, but a 1 year deal with less than 2 mil caphit in AHL is nothing.

Moving up 4 spots to take on a 3rd goalie who is a stiff makes no sense. You want to dump him. pay the 3rd for FC to move him

id argue moving up 6 spots from 33 to 27 is worth more to the sharks than a pick in the 80s, but agree to disagree

Cause there is little difference this year in the 25-40 range so it just doesn’t make sense, I would consider it for say a 3rd and a 5th. But there might just be a team that feels your D is why he was lousy (makes the Korpisalo play seem understandable) and take him for nothing or a late pick. But sharks are set in NHL and AHL in. Et and adding him only blocks developments

Would hope Branny could fetch a 3rd by himself, so two 3rds for Korzcak is the going rate?

I think Sharks fans overreacting on the Forsberg trade. I think the trade holds some weight if they like a player in the first round that they don't expect to be there in the second. Wouldn't hurt to run 3 goalies, especially considering Vanecek is hurt right now and Blackwood has a long injury history. Could buyout Vanecek as well. The buyout isn't bad.
