Calgary is loaded with LD and LW prospects so no interest in Kokkonen or Voit. And unless we move some other players out we already don't have enough roster spots for our own players so no need for Jarnkrok.

A late 1st isn't getting Markstrom and the rest of this proposal contains nothing of any interest to Calgary.

In terms of prospects, a good decent prospect in terms of kokkonen or Villeneuve could be of interest as this trade shows more retool. If not than we can add Chadwick, a goalie prospect etc... as for Jarnkrok. It is more for salary than anything else. Calgary can look to flip jarnkrok for more picks/prospects as he is a very good 2/3 line forward capable of 20+ goals and great defensively of they don't need him. His inclusion is more for the fact that Calgary will not need to retain salary.

The goalie trades are always hard to gauge. A first round pick from any team is what Calgary will want. The prospects change but as shown with new Jersey, if Calgary wishes to trade Markstrom, they are most likely not getting an A prospect. Jarnkrok is a good 2/3kine forward easily flippable for pick/prospects that can easily give he other team 20+ goals and solid pk and defense. Jarnkrok inclusion is for salary as Calgary has shown to like to keep their salary retention if they could.

I'd rather just retain salary and get a better return, we'd be below the cap floor with out markstrom.

Easily able to sign a UFA for that for their defense that is short. As for return leafs have little, so then you are looking at a 3 team trade which don't think the armchair GM has that feature where Jarnkrok goes to another team for Calgary to get the picks/prospects.

Then the Leafs won't be getting Markstrom. Calgary doesn't have to move Markstrom at all they're fine with keeping him. He'll only be moved if they get an offer they like. NJ's offer of Holtz+ was better than this and that wasn't enough. If as assumed the + was NJ's 2024 1st round pick then that offer wasn't just better it was a whole lot better. More than twice as good. But Calgary wanted Mercer instead of Holtz and NJ didn't want to trade Mercer and did want retention on Marktrom.

Nobody except the GMS knows what the deal they finally agreed upon that got nixed by Flames ownership was but the rumors imply it did include retention on Markstrom. It's quite possible it had Mercer replacing Holtz too.

Leafs aren't trading for a goalie. Woll will be there 1A next season with them signing a cheap UFA to be 1B. They don't have the cap for a 6M goalie. They should just wait till JT is off the books and make all their big moves for 25-26 season. The potential of UFA d-men that could be available are very high quality.
