That would be pretty lame. The divisions are fine as they are. Just need to do a play in tournament like the NBA to expand the playoffs

Heres an idea go back to 1-8 or copy the NBA play in but you will ahve ppl like steve dangle cry about TOO MANY GAMES

The issue with this is that it would create the same issue the NFL has but far worse due to no WC spots. Like for example this year Nashville and Tampa would both miss while Buffalo, Detroit , Pitsburgh and Washington all make it? How is that fair??? The divisions are great how they are, the NHL just needs to change to a 1-8 format is all
