jeff skinner isnt asking out. The guy said no to LA and yes to BUF so he could be closer to Toronto. He's not leaving unless its for the leafs and theyd have to gut their whole roster to make room for his cap hit.

But that wouldn’t make ANY sense at all for us to do
If we actually did wanna get Skinner off the roster at some point- there’s buy out options that would be more cost effective than holding half his salary for the next 3 years

A buyout costs 19.5 mill total cap hit. Retaining 50% costs 13.5 mill total cap hit and probably gets you significant assets.

No way Sabres pay 3x4,5M for Skinner not to play for them. They wont find player to replace Skinner for 4,5M they are freeing. Only scenario is for someone taking full contract for future considerations.
