I just can't see how all 3 guys that are doing, give a take a couple things, the exact same thing is the same as someone who's on the hunt for the most goals since 1992-93

What Matthews is doing is impressive.
McDavid put up an insane amount of points last year but before the the last time someone hit 130pts was Mario Lemieux and we've got three guys doing it this year. All four guys are doing insane things someone is gonna miss out.
McDavid 4th player ever to crack 100 assists is the more impressive than Matthews goals. And Matthews goals are amazing.

Obviously all 4 are impressive...
But don't you think all 3 of them doing the same thing (hitting 130+points) would spread out their voters compared to Matthews hitting 70...
And when was the last time a player hit 70+ where the hart trophy winner didn't get 50+? Mark Messier and Selanne?

Matthews has to hit 70 first.
Selanne and Mog weren't even finalists in 92-93 Super Mario won it with 69 goals and 160pts.
If Matthews is a finalist who misses out? MacKinnon with his 50 goals 130+ season or Kucherov, most points by a Russian ever feature in 50% of Tampa's goals. Matthews is in the conversation, every combination of three players is going to be missing a phenomenal season. This list just happens to miss Matthews. The next list will miss Kuch, the one after that will miss Nate Mac.
McDavid wins it tho. Guy is chipping his face into hockey's mt Rushmore everytime he steps in the ice.

it's not just that he'll be the 4th guy in NHL history to crack 100 assists...it's who the other four are. Wayne Gretzky, Mario Lemieux, Bobby Orr. So the first three guys that are usually mentioned as the best player in league history. its mcdavid. no question.
that's the wrong question. the right question is, is goaltending underrated.
I don't think that it's underrated... it's just hard sometimes to tell when the defensive system stops and the goaltending begins in terms of contribution to team success

Mario was so close to Selanne and Mog in the goal department... Which one of the 3 would be close to Matthews again? MacKinnon, whom will be farther than McDavid was when Matthews won it the 1rst time?
Easy... Whomever doesn't win the AR between Kuch and Mack... They are each producing a ton of assists/points and that's what stands out about them, one will do it better than the other
