Remove 1 of the 2nds and swap Robertson with Liljegren. At that point, I think the Canes accept. Necas, 1st, 3rd for Marner, 2nd for Liljegren as the breakdown.

Sure… considering that Necas at worst puts up 20-25 fewer points for what will likely be about 4mil fewer than Marner’s current deal. 8 years of Necas, with about 4mil in extra cap space before any potential Marner extension (probably ends up being an additional 1-2mil) and a 1st that could develop to fill the gap between Necas and Marner. Assuming Marner gets sick of losing in the 1st round again, I doubt Toronto will see that many offers like this.
