Description
I overpaid free agency contracts for the purpose of illustrating the possibility of icing this roster. I could see:
Domi getting $4M-$4.5M.
Robertson getting $1.5M-$1.75M.
Dillon getting $2.25M-$2.5M.
Samsonov getting $4M-$4.25M (furthermore, I could see him not being re-signed, giving Woll the starting roll with that low cap hit and using the money elsewhere).
Dewar is honestly the only contract I think might be in and around $1.1M.

Tough to see Dillon taking a paycut. Winnipeg probably beats that offer and he most likely stays a Jet

Canes decline. With Perets already having his development destroyed because of the affiliate situation, there's no reason to add to the crease in the minors we don't have. Martin, Freddie and Kochetkov are under contract for next year as it is, so there's no need for another goalie right now. Gregor would be a minor leaguer in Carolina

yep which is why i overpaid in this context. i dont think hes getting that at all (despite having an insane comeback since clearing waivers) - and with Woll being a pretty good goalie in the games we have seen him play, we dont even have to re-up Sammy

What’s the point of making this post if ur just going to overpay everyone. Like this roster is complete ass… what else do you want to hear?

Bad offer, we have half a dozen prospects similar or better then Voit at LW. Even if we moved Andersson we need a LD more then another RD.

what i want to hear is whats wrong with it considering the situation. good scoring top 9, **** 4th line but what can you do when Kampf and Reavo have term on their deals. a legit right handed defenceman for Mo, a 2nd pair that works, and a 3rd pair that could compliment each other

would replacing Voit for Fraser Minten, and replacing Liljegren for like a 2nd round pick be any more palatable?

You don't even have a 3rd line centre. Jarnkrok hasn't played that position in years.

Don't sign Domi, and don't trade Lilly or our first. There are a plethora of RHD available in FA that would be excellent additions to the blueline without having to sacrifice any of our future or current assets for a marginal upgrade.

That offer sounds like what market value would be, but by all accounts andersson wants to stay with the Flames, so it would probably take more for the flames to move him

dog respectfully you have pontus holmberg as your 3rd line centre, jarnkrok in that position is way better, despite it not being for a while. but if that's egregious then use the money from samsonov to get a 3C in FA, maybe Henrique?

whats wrong with domi? putting the last name aside, hes been great in the absence of mitch, and feistier than bert and mccabe. hes fast and while awful defensively, great at generating chances. also yea i would agree that Andersson doenst have to be the guy. i like Pesce and Roy filling that spot

Andersson is NOT for sale. It'd take a big overpay not an absurd lowball offer for Conroy to even think about moving him now. For Toronto that'd be something like Knies + 2024 1st + 2026 1st.

One of Holmberg, Minten, Kampf or Dewar being 3C is more likely. We've pretty much had a 3C of that quality for the past 5 years outside of ROR. I honestly really like Holmberg. He's improved a lot throughout this season and has the potential to grow next season. That can be a good line if you can put him on a line with someone like Nyalnder and Knies/Mcmann. If you think it needs an upgrade, then you trade your 1st at the deadline for a 2/3C. But throughout the regular season, it's fine.

I love Domi and the season he's having. But I honestly just wouldn't be confident in giving him 4.5-5 million over the next 5 seasons. He's just too one-dimensional of a player. He's incredible at generating offence off the rush and can make some really nice passes. But for a player making that kind of money, I'd want more. I'd rather give that money to Bertuzzi. His finishing has been very unlucky this season, but his style of hockey is more important to this team based on what we have on the rest of our roster. And his contract will be only marginally more expensive (if at all) than Domi's.

If... If Anderson was for sale, Buffalo, OTT, or NJ have far more assets to make a deal happen.
