no, just no. What is so special about McTavish to make him worth Caufield AND a top 7 pick?

Well, let's see: he has as many points in 60 games as Juraj Slafkovsky has in 71, he plays center and is better defensively than Caufield or Slafkovsky despite being younger, and he has a face-off-winning percentage of 52.2, so he'd be a much better #2C than Kirby Dach. Which is why we won't be making this trade, because if we miss on both Celebrini and Levshunov, we'd much rather have our own first and McTavish than Caufield and your first.

It's bad enough that there was a collective delusion amongst habs fans that Zegras was available, now you think you can get McTavish?

If they're U25 and are playing in the Ducks top 6/4, they're not available, period.

I would do that if I was the Pens. Anderson doesn't help them get any younger but he provides an element they have lacked for years. Also they need to change it up. What they have hasn't worked. Rakell is wildly inconsistent and has 1 more year left on his deal than Anderson

Wow, your 21 year old center has the same amount of points as our 19 year old winger, so impressive!
Not saying they're everything, but as someone who doesn't watch McTavish I can't say whether he's better defensively or not, but as per https://www.data-driven-hockey.com/ 's advanced stats which I subscribed for, Caufield has a -0.02 GOA/GP (goals over average per game) defensively, Slaf is -0.08, and McTavish is -0.11. Gonna say it again, those numbers aren't everything, but it's a fair outline of a players abilities. And another stat that has some say in a player's defensive ability (but more a team stat) +/-, Caufield is -6, Slaf is -18, McTavish is -24...

Not gonna argue about the faceoffs, you're most likely correct there

Nice homer bias showing through there. You speak of Slafkovsky as if he weren't the first overall selection in his draft. Moreover, the age difference between them is 14 months, not the two years your "21 year old center" and "19 year old winger" implies, and although Slafkovsky has played in about 80% of the games McTavish has appeared in (110 to 149), he has fewer than 60% of the points.

You asked a question implying that McTavish has little value. I refuted your premise. Giving up McTavish makes sense only if we get Macklin Celebrini or Artyom Levshunov in the draft.

I wasn't trying to say McTavish has no value, but that his value isn't a 23 year old with 55 points in 71 games and a top 7 pick.
