the flyers would be trading for chychrun to play him WITH drysdale, not trading him to get chychrun

They traded for Drysdale because they didn't have any good RD prospects and with this trade you are just bolstering our LD at the expense of our RD which makes no sense. Besides Drysdale, Bonk is the only other RD prospect who has higher than bottom pairing potential.

Winnipeg isn't paying to help Philadelphia out by taking a bad player with a bad long term contract.

OTT already has a player who cant stay heathy (chabot), they wont want another one in Drysdale OTT declines and that would not even get OTTs 1st this year yet alone add chych. hell i would not trade chych for that

I completely disagree with this take. Sanheim is much better on the right side and Bonk is by far the best D prospect in the organization. Keeping Drysdale likely means moving Sanheim to LD where he has been far less effective. And Andrae is a 5’’9” below average skating LD who despite having a high compete level, I think will struggle to play above the 3rd pairing level in the NHL. I also believe Attard can be a decent 3rd pairing guy and Zamula can play either side. Given all of that, I think the Flyers are in far better position for the future on the right side.

And they weren’t specically targeting RD when they traded for Drysdale….they tried to trade Cutter for Bo Byram prior to the Drysdale deal.

I have yet to find a trade that Ottawa fans would accept. Given how much this team has underperformed and desperately needs a shakeup, it’s surprising how anything of trade value is labeled as untouchable or is significantly overvalued. Chych isn’t actually that good on the defensive side of the ice. You are nuts if you think he is a worth a 21 year old former 6th pick, a first, and a Laughton (whom teams offered a 1st for in the offseason). That’s like saying he’s worth 3 firsts….the fact that you still wouldn’t take that for a guy with only 1 year left on his contract (and 50/50 to resign at best) is ludicrous.

Keeping Drysdale doesn't mean moving Sanheim back to LD. Right now Sanheim is clearly the better out of the two right now and Drysdale won't be threat to overtake Sanheim on RD for atleast a year and when Drysdale does overtake Sanheim you can just put him on the 2nd pairing as a RD. Flyers also lack a 1D and Drysdale is the only one with that potential.

We can disagree on this, but I have more faith in Andrae becoming a 2nd pair D. He is small, but he is really good at creating offense from the blueline.

Flyers weren't specifically targetting a RD but they knew that they wanted preferably a RD with top pairing potential because their RD was a lot weaker than their LD long-term.
