I'm kind of curious what Buffalo fans think would be a fair return for Tuch. I know all about the local connection and how much he supposedly loves Buffalo. But there were rumors at the TDL and NJ fans know what type of player Fitz will admittedly be shopping for in the off-season. Just curious about an honest opinion on FAIR trade would be. (Not Mercer, Nemec, Holtz and a 1st please. Be better than MTL fans buffalo!)

Tuch was never available they can’t afford to trade Tuch.

Tuch isn't on the block so you would have to overpay. Which means Nemec is probably a starting point and Mercer is right there, with BUF adding to balance the trade out. Samuelsson or Jokiharju and a prospect or two coming back.

I could see Tuch, Jokiharju & Ostlund for Nemec & Mercer. NJD shouldn't make the trade, but that would be the likely ball park of the ask. IMHO

Asking about Alex Tuch is a lot like Buffalo asking about the availability of Jack Hughes, or perhaps more accurately a player like Jason Arnott used to be. Some players are worth more than their numbers, and it doesn’t matter what someone is offering, he’s not for sale.

I like Tuch but this isn't happening. Tuch is near and dear to the city I think, and this is nowhere near the value Buffalo would sell him at.

I couldn’t think of a player on New Jersey of the same mould and value that Tuch has with Buffalo. I guess that’s why they are trying to trade for him. Conveniently, you’ve also ignored the better comparison I tried to make with Jason Arnott.

Tuch is BUF's version of Meier, if Meier grew up in the same neighborhood as Johnny Gaudreau....just on a better cap hit, and earlier in his career

I never think physicality when thinking about Meier, but sure. Tuch was one of the premier young power forwards in the game when the Sabres traded for him. That’s a big reason why he was a required piece in return for Eichel.

While Meier is no Forsberg/Ovechkin he is a physical player for being a scorer

Didn't ignore just an old comparison that is also bad because Arnott was a 1c on a cup winner whil Tuch has had 1 season where he wasn't a 50 point player.

Meier 532GP 908 Hits Tuch 445GP 457 hits so not more physical I think Tuch is a better passer while Meier is the better goal scorer

This is not even a real trade idea so why even talk about it? Tuck not going for anything less that #1 and Dawson Mercer
