I mean I would say that he has only had one bad season really in 22-23, when the entire team went through a regression and he was probably overworked having no servicable backup.

21-22 Wasn't the best regular season but he turned it on in the playoffs before getting hurt with a .949.

Say whatever you want about the deals value, but people really hate on Binnington because of his past antics.

The trick to goalie values is that they are about half to 1/3rd the value of an equivalent forward

I won't really argue that his argue that on average his stats are fairly middle of the Pack compared to starters around the league, but he can get hot like the top goalies in the league and from what we have consistently does in the playoffs. I think that puts him around the 6-15th best goalie in the league.

My personal opinion is that goalies shouldn't be traded unless:

1. Expiring and You don't want to or can't keep them.
2. A team is desparate and is going to wildly overpay.
3. The goalie is a cap dump and can't be placed in LTIR or bought out.

Can’t see the Leafs trading FC for Binnington; leaving aside his performance (which is inconsistent), absolutely no room for that cap hit

Wouldn't matter to me if he was #1. Guy is a hothead who will do more damage to the team than help it.
