Greig is also a rookie . He will be an excellent 2 way middle 6 player who will make clutch plays like Pageau did for us but he has more offence to him than Pageau

I agree!

It’s not necessarily that your value for Grieg is off. It’s for the same reasons you want him on MTL that it makes sense for Ottawa to hold onto him

I agree! It just seems like ottawa could benefit from a top 9 forward and a 4-5 th Dman with a 2nd round pick.... Dont get me wrong this move by ottawa comes with norris, pinto, giroux, chabot, batherson all getting traded their useless asses out of ottawa

Why offer sheet Anton when you can offer sheet Quinton Byfield instead

Because Kings have to money to match and the panthers dont. Go see how many players the panthers need to sign with their 20 mil of cap space next year...

I don't think Lundell would be enticed enough to leave the powerhouse team for a perennial lottery team frankly. Unless he's being snubbed on ice time and being lowballed on his next offer, Im pretty sure he'll take less now to make more later and play in more important games. Its not like he'll get #1 center minutes in MTL. Heck he may not even get 2nd line center minutes depending on how well Dach plays.

If Bergevin taught us anything is that its that OS have to make sense and this one doesn't IMO.

Don't see Florida letting Lundell go, Florida values his ability to play center vs wing. they're not afraid to move on from high-scoring wingers (i.e. Huby), also Ottawa declines for sure

They wont have a choice if they sign Montour/Reinhart. The money will have dried up. Same happened to the Hawks with Turbo, etc. Capitals with Burakovsky. It's a thing! The cap exists and tough choices are made with contenders in the offseason.

He's def getting lowballed on his next contract... panthers have no money to spend. But ya OS wont happen anymore. Would be so smart on MTl's end to do it however ;/ Lindell would easily accept 6.3Mil x3 years

Honestly I wouldn't be worried about them not being able to give him a fair contract, its not like his agent will be going for 6.3M off the bat. They're looking at probably the 4 range which is fair and Florida could easily do that with minimal changes to their roster. Lots of pending UFA's that are not going to resign. They have cap space.

Reinhart gets 10, montour gets 7... you then have 4 million left for 7 roster players to sign ahahah delete your comment

Agreed. I dont think there is anyway they dont resign Reinhart with that Barkov chemistry. If Montour resigns. They are right at the cap.

They could buy out Knight and get $3.75mil in cap? I don't know if they still see him as a Goalie of the Future or not, but could be a desperation play.

You’re crazy if montour gets more than forslings 5.6. He’s a much better d man. And Reinhart isn’t getting resigned if he wants more than Chucky and equal to barkov. Thats crazy talk.

if only you knew my friend... lundell is easilyyyy a top 6 player for years to come. He's the equivalent of a 15th overall pick. Worth the gamble on the incertainty of the pick

Still not worth close to an unprotected 1st of a rebuilding team

Who says they are resigning all their players??? They're not going to sign a bunch of 30+ yo's but let their 23 yo stud go for nothing... I'll gladly bet they'll have Lundell signed and on the team next year before losing him to a OS.

It would be 2025. Not so sure you'd still be so excited. Hughes, most likely, is grabbing more assets ala Dach/Newhook with a dozen picks in first 3 rounds in next 2 years along with over 20 million in cap space and almost everyone under contract.

It would definitely be a gamble, thats why i only see hughes doing this offer sheet if he can aquire a player of the likes of greig to boost even more his team. The aim would be for the pick to land around 15th ovr.
