I think that's fair. Dubas would probably take back some cap hit too. Not big on Holtz but he still has upside potential. Even Schmid is young enough as a goalie that he could still develop substantially more.

If you aren't a fan of Holtz I would happily swap in a 2026 1st, or Casey, or our pair of 2nds in 2025, or Arseni, or whatever else.

I don't think NJD has any cap they'd want to ship out, except maybe Palat (but he would be an expensive dump I'd think).

With this trade, the Devils would be over the cap with bonuses paid, which wouod result in less cap in 25/26.
There are capable NHL goalies as UFA cheaper than Jarry. Even LHD are plentiful.

Luke will get 850k max in all likelihood and Nemec will get 1 mill maximum Worst case you pay for retention on pettersson and you're fine.

If Nemec and Luke hit their B bonuses, who cares about next year.

-Win any of the following trophies: Hart, Selke, Richard, Conn Smythe, Norris

-1st or 2nd team All-Star
