To me, this just says you don't watch Carolina. Kochetkov is by far the most impressive of the three.
By what metric is PK "far more impressive" than Hofer? Their save %, quality start and goals saved above average stats are almost identical. The main differences between the two are 1) yes, PK has more organized team in front of him whereas Hofer has the Jekyll and Hyde clown show & 2) PK has played 10 more games.
Beyond that, the only real difference I see is PK wears the Carolina sweater to work. Both of them are considerably more deserving than Dostal. That's the obvious critique.

Kochetkov's not behind an organized defense. Look at the stats. Carolina are good at general shot suppression, but the chances they do give up are grade A chances. It means that while Kochetkov may only stop 11 of 12 in a game, he'll make 4 or 5 great saves because he has to, where Hofer's got a little more leeway consistently. Combine that with Kochetkov taking a starters workload this season (he's been forced into it with the Andersen situation) and there's no case for Hofer. The only real defense you have is that Hofer wears a Blues sweater to work.

Hahaha what??? Hofer has leeway for what? The Blues give up the grade A-iest chances around AND all the other chances. Hofer has more goals saved above average per game than PK by about 45%. And yes, PK has a nice high danger save % that is a bit better than Hofer's... which obviously means his regular shot save % is considerably lower than Hofer's.
And umm I never said some overt silliness like "Hofer is far more impressive then PK" so I have no idea how you think parroting my salient point means a thing. We're discussing your claim, not mine. These two goalies are the clear top two rookie goalies this season, and one can barely pick their relevant play apart. That is my only claim so far.
i am more impressed by Dostal and Hofer, i think Kochetkov play behind well organized defence
PK has the 5th best GAA of all goalies and is only .03 behind a Vezina candidate... the Hurricanes' shot impression system means that his save percentage can be a little depressed. GAA is a better metric to look at when talking about Hurricanes goalies. The Hurricanes goaltender is also the only rookie that has taken a starter's load... Hofer is behind Binnington and Dostal is behind Gibson
PK has also been a lot better goalie than Dostal or Hoffer since the middle of December
PK... 2.03 GAA- .927 SV%
Hofer... 2.67 GAA... .920 SV%
Dostal... 3.26 GAA... .913 SV%
